London is one of the most exciting cities in the world, thanks to its brimming culture and world-class sights. It is a huge, fast-paced, and filled to the brim with things to do and experience. This bustling city is definitely one of the places you should visit at least once in your lifetime, but all of its wonders can leave you overwhelmed.

If it is your first time visiting the heart of the UK, then you might be confused as to where you should go first. Lucky for you, we have prepared this destination checklist to make sure you get the best time! If you are still mulling over your trip itinerary, read on and find out how you can make the most out of your trip. Be sure that you have a go-to immigration lawyer in the UK as well in case you encounter trouble!

Here are the absolute must-see destinations for your first London trip!

    1.  London Eye

One of the most iconic things about London is the London Eye. Yes, we know it’s incredibly touristy but, trust us: you would regret not getting this destination ticked off your list. If it is your first time, be sure to get the typical first-timer musts out of the way! This iconic ride in the middle of South Bank takes around 30 minutes to do a full rotation, which gives you ample time to get a relaxed view of London. You will even be able to see the Houses of Parliament, along with other iconic landmarks from the ride!

We recommend that you book tickets in advance because it can get crowded and you may end up wasting so much of your time waiting in line, instead of going out and exploring.

    2.  Westminster Abbey

If you want a taste of true London culture, head over to the Westminster Abbey. This extraordinary place is the heart of the royal and religious life of the United Kingdom for centuries. You have probably seen this famous church in some recent Royal Weddings, and it’s even more stunning in real life.

Its architectural design dates back to the 13th century, and is a sight to behold with its eclectic mix of styles. Be sure to check out the Poets’ Corner in the South Transept! You will definitely fall in love with its unique beauty.

    3.  Soho

Now, if you want a laid back day when you can let your hair down. It has hidden gems and after-dark delights that will surely keep you on your toes. You can go everywhere from old-school bars, red-light districts, and is known for being the hub for London’s vibrant gay community.

We would recommend this place if you want to have a chill day with sumptuous meals to choose from in every corner. Plus, it will definitely do wonders for your Instagram feed!

    4.  South Kensington

World-class museums are located within steps of each other in the affluent neighbourhood of South Kensington You can check out the renowned trio of South Kensington museums, or drop by the Science Museum for something that is a bit out of the norm!

    5.  Buckingham Palace

Of course, one of the things London is well-known for is how it has preserved its Royal traditions, even incorporating it into its identity and daily life. Don’t forget to catch the changing of the guards, and drop by early to make sure that you get a good view! You can even take a tour of the palace itself around August and September. Just be sure to plan ahead and check if these attractions will be available during your trip!
