There are different types of injuries that you may suffer after a fall accident. It mainly includes fractured or sprained bones, damage to the spine or head. However, if you are injured in Los Angeles while working, it is the responsibility of the owner to pay for all your medical bills, and if he refuses to do so, you must fight for your rights at the court.

Whenever you are injured, there are a few steps you must take to protect your health and safeguard your rights; they are as follows:

    • Report to the management – If you slip or fall at your workplace, make sure you contact the management first. Ask them for a copy of the accident. If the accident’s severity is more, make sure to submit a copy of the report to the police.
    • Gather evidence – Take as many pictures as possible. If you had a fall due to a broken ladder, make sure you take pictures of it too. Additionally, also click photos of your injuries.
    • Get medical help – A professional doctor’s examination will help you in proving that you were hurt in a fall accident. It is also essential that you take proper treatment as suggested by the doctor. If you avoid doing so, it can later interfere with your settlement process.
    • Save all the accident-related data – Maintain a file and include all medical bills, accident reports, and extra expenses spent on the accident. On a piece of paper, write down the details of the accident like date, time, place of incident, and what you were wearing. This will help you in explaining the parties to the insurance giver or the court if needed.
    • Do not wash the clothes – Any dirt, damage to your clothes will help in the investigation later. Therefore do not wash the clothes until the authorities thoroughly review them.
    • Do not give statements on the spot – Refuse from giving any verbal or written statements to employees or the insurance company until the entire investigation process is over. In addition to this, make sure you do not post any accident details on social media. This can be used against your case later while getting your claim.
    • Talk to a consultant – Most lawyers provide free consultations. They will help review your case and explain how they will assist you in getting you the claim that you deserve. Therefore you must consider hiring an attorney to get yourself a claim for your injuries.

You must take appropriate measures after you suffer from any injury at the workplace so you do get stuck paying for bills caused by somebody else’s negligence.
