If you have been stopped and arrested for DUI – guess what – you are going to need a good lawyer. No matter if this is your first arrest or one of many; you are in danger of losing your driver’s license, having a large fine and possibly spending some time in jail. Driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs has been linked to reckless driving, auto crashes, and fatal accidents. There are approximately 1.1 million people arrested every year for driving under the influence or driving while intoxicated.

    DUI attorney

If you live in Kentucky, there is a good Lexington-KY DUI attorney whom you could consider using. Here are some of the qualities you should look for in a good DUI attorney. They include:

    • Extensive experience and training in DUI
    • Spotless ethical record
    • A good track record in court
    • Communication skills that are excellent
    • Confidence
    • Should be local
    • Charges fees that you can afford

    Why you drink

Here is some good advice for anyone who gets stopped and arrested for a DUI – why are you drinking in the first place? Perhaps you should get some help if this is not the first time you have been arrested. Think about going to an AA meeting which is held almost everywhere. Try to admit that you do have a problem and that problem is going to continue to cost you money in attorney fees, fines, and court cost. You are not only putting your life in danger but you could kill someone else in a driving accident while intoxicated.

    Drugs

It’s the same thing if you are intoxicated from doing drugs. Get help as you could be ruining your life or someone else’s life. Don’t continue to drive while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. But if you do, always carry the name and phone number of your attorney with you.
