Lawyers and their clients are required to have accurate documents and print text messages to serve as records for court and legal proceedings. Text messages are excellent records to avoid “your word against my word” situations. Having complete records of text messages can also help investigations move on faster and more efficiently. This would mean fewer costs for all the parties involved in the case.

Recording text messages can prove to be helpful for use in trial and legal matters. That is why everyone should be able to archive text messages to ensure that they have a copy if ever they will need it for future references.

Here are some ways people can use to record text messages.

  • Using Screenshots- Capturing screenshots is said to be the easiest way to record text messages. All you have to do is scroll through the conversation and capture the relevant parts along with the time, date, and contact information.
  • Using the Phone’s Built-in Features- Both iPhone and Android phones have systems to backup their messages. Keep in mind that most built-in backups store the messages in file formats that are not user-friendly.
  • Apps and Programs- Installing an app will allow people to keep backups of their messages. However, this will require more effort as you will have to get used to the ins and outs of the app you are using.
